Who Are We

Nations Social Services, a faith based non-profit organization, was established in July of 2OOO to meet the high
demand of social and economic needs in the Parkland/Spanaway area. We are a non-profit community group
partnering with children, youth and families in need. We work in the Tacoma and Pierce County areas of Washington
State—networking with volunteers, businesses, government agencies and non-profit groups. Our desire is to be a
compassionate and positive force, rekindling hope, breaking the cycle of poverty, restoring dignity, and providing skills
to the families in our community.

Nations Social Services reaches out to families-in-need through a local food distribution center, social service referals,
support for individuals with life controling problems, computer training aimed directly at providing job skill support for
low income families, encouraging individuals to invest in this community that has been depressed with high crime
rates, gang activity & high poverty rates, and influencing people to live healthy productive lives. We meet immediate
needs but our goal is to encourage the individual toward spiritual/personal growth and active participant in society. NSS
hopes to develop people who will turn around and help the next person, which is why we train through volunteerism.

We recognize that poverty can be a physical, mental and a spiritual condition. We believe that every person should
have the opportunity for positive life experiences and to realize their full potential—regardless of age, gender,
circumstances, economic situation, and ethnic background. Nations Social Services helps to break the cycle of poverty
and despair through compassionate help, self-sustainable solutions and economic development. We reach at-risk
children, teenagers, unemployed adults, single parents, and others in need of support. We give hope to people by first
meeting their needs, and then training them to become self-sufficient contributors to society

Nations Social Services is registered with Washington State as a non-profit, charitable organization. Our Federal tax ID
number is 94-3367886. The Internal Revenue Service has determined that qualifying donations to NSS are tax
